{"id":1363,"date":"2005-06-11T12:12:33","date_gmt":"2005-06-11T08:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geoeconomics.ge\/en\/?p=1363"},"modified":"2013-03-11T12:12:57","modified_gmt":"2013-03-11T08:12:57","slug":"chronology-and-results-of-georgias-membership-in-world-trade-organization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/geoeconomics.ge\/en\/?p=1363","title":{"rendered":"Chronology and results of Georgia\u2019s membership in World Trade organization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Prof. Revaz Kakulia, Ekaterine Babunashvili <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of XX century and the beginning of XXI century the state adheres to an active position in the macro system when institutional and structural reforms are being carried out under the initiative and support of the state. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>       If we take a simple approach to the selection of reform methods they come to two variants. The first variant envisages implementation of a number of radical measures in the shortest terms; it was called \u201cshock therapy\u201d. The second one is based on particular reforms and their gradual intensification \u2013 it was called \u201cpolicy of gradualism\u201d.<br \/>\n       The reforms in Georgia are being carried out according to the first radical variant, that are aimed at substitution of centralized planning for basic elements of market economy, that is: quick liberalization of prices and trade, implementation of stabilization program, etc.<br \/>\n       Under these conditions, the problem of mobilization of material and monetary resources and their distribution to the sectors of the national economy for promoting its structural rebuilding becomes very important.
