Role and importance of tourism in countries with developing economy (ABSTRACT)

Toursim is an important sector of economy managed by economic laws. That is why tourism should take an appropriate priority place in the economic bloc of a country.
The following criteria of tourism priority should be singled out: high level of exportability of this sector and, therefore, great potential of tourism from the standpoint of increase in country’s revenues; large-scale opprotunities for the population’s employment; existence of reserves of equlising levels of regional economies’ development (such opportunity is provided by natural and geographical location of tourist potential across the country); promotion of the development of other sectors of economy (relating to tourism, in particular, transport, communications means, trade and services, insurance and banking, multiplicatory-accelerative effect of tourism. As a matter of fact, influence of tourism on country’s economy is presented by the following indicators: the number of foreign and local tourists; expenses of one tourist; profits from tourism; ratio of profits obtained from tourism in the total volume of commodities and services produced in a country; ratio of tourism in export and payments balance; budget revenues of a country from tourism; the number of workplaces from the tourism development.
