The population of Bangladesh is 130 million people. This is a liberal and democratic state with good investment climate. Foreign investments are mainly implemented in gas and energy sectors. Bangladesh has no large deposits of fuel and coal, but it has huge deposits of natural gas, and that is why it is gaining a more important role on the international energy market.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bangladeshi Federation was established in 1973. It represents the interests of commerce and industrial sectors. Its objective is establishing of relations with foreign investors and rendering assistance to cooperation of business organizations inside the country. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bangladeshi Federation is cooperating with many international bodies such as: the International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICC), Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), these ties deepen and protect business interests of Bangladesh on the international arena. Mir Nazir Husein was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bangladeshi Federation for 2005-2007.
