AZOT BECOMES CENTRE OF INTERNATIONALDISCUSSION
Within the frames of the international convention on ban of chemical weapons production, development, use and destruction of the weapons, an inspection group of chemical weapons ban organisation came to Azot on March 11 to carry out inspection.
For your information: Georgia signed the international convention on ban of chemical weapons production, development, use and destruction of the weapons in Paris, in 13 January 1993 and ratified the document in 19 April 1995. The convention came in force in 29 April 1997. The convention bans development, production, purchase, collection, ownership, transfer and use of chemical weapons. A chemical weapons ban organisation was formed on the basis of the convention with the purpose of implementing the provisions. It represents a warrant for non-spread of chemical weapons in the world.
All necessary conditions for inspection were made for the members of the mentioned group in Azot. The group left the enterprise two days later.
