Demographic situation of Georgia and several directions of the improvement of demostatistic registration (RESUME)

The article deals with the short analysis of demographic situation of Georgia in 1990-2001 in the background of the improvement models of demostatic registration.
The authors examine prior consequences of statistical recording reforms in the State Statistics Department and reflect trends of population’s natural movement in 1995-2001 on the basis of demostatistic information, namely, birth and death rates, marriage and divorce.
Authors provide conclusions and recommendations based on analysis.
