E. Kusrashvili, S. Vardishvili
The article considers social differentiation of population in accordance with incomes.
Developed countries are compared with a similar indicator, and a conclusion is drawn that this indicator is sharply high in Georgia, which stands in the way of social development. The article analyses diverse reasons of population’s polarisation as well as the factor aimed at assisting socially unprotected layers. Due to incorrect policy, differentiation does not reduce, but rather deepens.
The article contains measures for softening the differentiation.
