Regionalisation problems in Georgia (ABSTRACT)
Tea Kuchukhidze
In the article problems of regionalisation in Georgia are mainly viewed as the same problems of both small and large states.
Attention is paid to the generally recognised experiences of regional administration, the essence of post-Keynes’, neo-classic, regional and non-balanced theories and spheres of their application are determined. Taking into account the views of famous Georgian and non-Georgian scientist-regionalists, it is also assumed that regional policy of Georgia should be based on principles of federal structure of society and it should be performed by central government as well as by territorial subjects. Problems of policy management are as follows: adaptation to local conditions of government’s economic reforms, co-ordination of territorial subjects and local bodies, stabilisation of socio-economic conditions and search for the ways of averting crisis, minimisation of difference in life standard and improvement of production.
