I imply the first issue that was pub
lished in a new format with addition of new topics.
In connection with the advent of spring, there livened up arguments and discussions in the Parliament on some issues of economic reform – the Customs Code, the government’s new initiative concerning cancellation of the customs tax, and the mechanism of enabling of the already effective law on safety and quality food products. That is why it is natural that these issues will be the main topics of the second issue of the magazine. We offer our readers a wide discussion on them, the whole range of views, since here haste is irrelevant and any topic is an integral part of the general economic strategy. The subsequent development of the state largely depends on optimum regulation of these issues.
It is natural that use of cash registers was not passed over in silence, and in parallel with the new requirements given under the rubrics of the Accounting Bulletin and the Tax Bulletin, we offer to consider the issues of carrying out of operations and accounting, as well as a discussion on the rules of accounting transaction in the expenditures.
In February, under the aegis of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, American development agency (USAID) and “Sakartvelos Ekonomika”, a final stage of the competition of successful businessmen in small and medium business according to the data of 2005 was held, special awards were given to the worthiest businessmen by the Prime Minister, the leadership of the Parliament and representatives of large-scale business. This competition plays a rather important part in the matter of popularization of this sector, and the development statistics is impressive. They play an ever increasing part in the areal of the Georgian economy. Your acquaintance with them will be interesting.
The visit of the President of Turkish National Bank and meetings with business elite were rather important. The economy of the neighboring country is one of the most rapidly developing ones and their example in many spheres is worth taking over. Moreover, against the background of Russia’s oppression of our businessmen, the task of establishment of relations with the closest neighbor confronts the Georgian business. Besides, his views on the problems of both Georgian and Turkish economies is interesting, which are also offered in this issue.
During the second month of this year the world market was characterized by comparative stability and was on the rise.
Regulation of oil prices and the progress in the Iranian issue gave new incentives to the market. Besides, according to analysts, in spite of the unprecedented growth of the trade balance, a serious enlivening of the American economy is observed, and the last raising of the rate Ben Bernanke gives the world market a hope that the dollar’s exchange rate will be strengthened.
