In spite of the unique sunny summer days and excess of football adrenalin, we are seriously working on the analysis of the export potential and the model of state regulation that should contribute to successful and growing export.

At the end of July we are going to have an extensive discussion on this issue at the conference having the same name, at which the numerous audience, including specialists from the governmental structures and businessmen, will consider these problems. In this issue we offer you interesting ideas of Mrs. Tamar Beruchashvili in relation to this topic and continue the talk about the resorts started by Mr. Nika Saakashvili on the subject of “Local resorts as the export potential”. After the last meeting held by the President in Batumi this subject acquired became more relevant, and it will also be the main subject of the aforementioned conference. That is why we offer you Givi Kuparadze’s article on this issue.
The world’s attention is focused on the G8 meeting. Now the world is in thought about rising oil prices and the issues related to energy security in general. Taking into account the processes taking place in its economy, the USA is trying to find a balance between the countries possessing the resources and the developing countries, and associate the dynamics of the world market’s processes to the current problems in Iran, the whole of the Middle East and Russia. That is why we offer you an extensive analysis of the world economy and the US economy in particular, and against its background the forecast of the expected trends in relation of both oil and the basic macroeconomic indicators on the whole for the immediate future, as well as the forecast as to the direction of the world economy and Georgia’s place in it.
The reform of higher education and discussion concerning the university, the Bologna process and the future of our children – here are the issues to which we devoted our round table, and its peripeteias will interest our readers.
Extensive inculcation of such paraphernalia as bar codes is important for the development of the Georgian business at modern level and our integration into the European space. On the one hand it is necessary for consumers and all the more for export-oriented enterprises, on the other one it is advertisement and image for entrepreneurs, that is why we return to this issue and present what is being done in Georgia from this point of view – how this institution is being formed and how acceptable and necessary it is for entrepreneurs and consumers.
Again we return to the relevant issues of the Tax Code and the expected amendments to this Code.
