A valuable monograph – “Problems of the exchange system development in Georgia” was added to the economic library.

Its author is a famous economist and banker, Merab Kakulia. Mr. Merab is one of the authors of banking exchange system. He connected his many years’ experience with the results of serious research. His research concerned quite actual issues, which was an attempt of complex study of development problems. It considers the convertibility of national currency, evolution of exchange rate regime, infrastructure of home money market and the mechanism of monetary crisis in Georgia during the period of transition to market economy. The mentioned issues are considered in a wide conceptual specter.
The book describes institutional basics of exchange system in Georgia, problems of national currency convertibility, problems of choosing exchange rates, monetary crisis and transition to floating exchange rate.
